The meeting takes place following the successful conclusion of the 9th South Africa-China Bi-National Commission hosted in Cape Town in March 2026.

“South Africa remains unwavering in its principled and longstanding commitment to the One China Policy. This position was reaffirmed in the Joint Statement issued during President Ramaphosa’s State Visit to China in September 2024 and continues to be consistently upheld in all our engagements at various levels,” said Deputy President Mashatile.

The Deputy President is joined by the Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Mr Zuko Godlimpi, Ambassador of South Africa to the People’s Republic of China, Ms Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba and senior government officials.
