SOWETO KIDS CARE ABOUT THEIR INDIGENOUS GAMES

SOONER or later, kids won’t know much about their indigenous games any more.
This is because parents are gradually losing interest in it.
The only time we focus on indigenous games as South Africans is during Heritage Month.
But there’s a lot that children can gain from knowing about their heritage, including job opportunities.

The department of basic education is encouraging school-kids to play these games at home, school and everywhere they may be.
On Saturday 22 August, more than 15 primary schools kids participated in morabaraba, kgati, khokho and basket ball as well as other games to keep children’s minds occupied and not think about anything else that is wrong and find themselves losing focus in life. These games are not just helping these kids to mentality and physically. But they’re there to also help them create employment for themselves as not every child will succeed academically.
